Craft time

Home sick and I still seem to have the desire to take photos! Maybe I am a Camera Nut :).....Chris helped entertain the kids this weekend by doing Craft things, which Miss H absolutely loved.  One of the things they both got to do today was paint there own mugs, so I captured the moment on camera.  I decided to practice DOF and which object to focus on, for example some focus on the item that they are painting some on their facial expressions...

Home Sick

Today we were supposed to be down in Penrith for a friends fourth birthday Party. Unfortunately I have been struck down with the dreaded head cold and my son has the flu, so I had to cancel our weekend away.  I would like to apologise to Colleen and Elise for not being able to make it.  Miss H was extremely disappointed, and was determined to wear her party dress all day today.  And sorry to Colleen for not being there to take the photos as planned, I would have loved the experience...especially photographing gorgeous little girls at a High Tea Party.  Here is a little message Miss H wanted to send Elise....accompanied with a song (which you obviously can't hear) lol.  We promise to make it down there in the next couple of weeks. I hope the party went well and Elise enjoyed every minute of it!

Teddies and Cubbies

Of course as the camera was already out, Miss H asked me to take some photos of her....she is a little poser, and is definately very comfortable in front of the camera when she wants to be.

Teddy

For Cameron's class project for the term they  been asked to take in a few photos, each of a different topic, well one was of their favorite soft toy. Cameron's is his brown teddy bear, called Teddy.  Hayley wanted to get involved as well of course and let her blue 'teddy' join in too.

If I have even 20 minutes of time to myself, I try and pop out for some me time (well photography time).  I figured the more practice I get the better I will become.  Not so sure I'll keep up with Photo of the day, I'm still taking plenty of photos, so here are some that I took today.

More Macro Work

I think Chris is starting to wonder if I'm going Crazy...he laughed when he saw me taking a photo of the Creaming Soda Bubbles...hmmm maybe I am :).  No, I'm so amazed at how images look really close up and its a lot of fun when you add the photos to the computer and see the image enlarged.  Below are photos of the kids craft things, like Glitter and also a photo of the bubbles in my drink.

You Can see how windy it was, one side of the pool was quite choppy as the wind blew.....have a feeling my Camera won't last too long if I keep going out on these windy days, the salt spray won't do it any good!

Miss H and Master C were actually enjoying each others company for once, so I grabbed the camera for a quick pic....just wish I had better flash equipment and knowledge for inside images where the light is not so good.

Chris wanted to head off for an hour of fishing today but seeing the weather wasn't too good, it was better that we didn't go on our planned drive for the day. So while Chris fished, I attempted landscape panorama's (stitching them together with elements).....need lots of practice!

Kiera is our beautiful 9 year old Labrador.  She was such an energetic dog, still tries to be but unfortunately has a recurring leg injury that prevents her from too much exercise, so life at the moment is quite a lazy one for her. And as usual I couldn't pick just one, I loved all of them, so here are some of the better photos.

POTD: Rainbow Lorikeet

I finally was able to photograph one of the many Rainbow Lorikeets that visit our front garden regularly. Usually as soon as they see the camera there gone before I even turn it on.  And I have cheated a bit today for photo of the day, it was taken yesterday, but I have only just uploaded it now. Cheating or not, its my photo for today. :)

POTD : Newcastle's Coastline

Even though this challenge is a little time consuming, I am really enjoying doing it.  I don't feel it at all difficult to take my camera along with me, in fact it would be strange not to have it on me.  Today I had the day to myself, so after dropping the kids off at school, I went for a walk over to Nobby's Lighthouse and Newcastle Baths.  It was a little windy, and it seems like winter is starting to settle in now but with the colder weather brings less people around letting you feel like you have the whole place to yourself. Again today, it was too hard to chose my photo of the day so I posted three...

I love it when the wind is blowing from the west and a rainbow effect sprays off the incoming wave.

Decided to go for a short walk today before I picked up the kids from school, so I cchose to take a photo down there for the photo challenge I set myself (definately not easy..but it is fun)

Mothers Day Portraits

They were keen to pose for a portrait photo with me today - more of a self portrait really...taken with the timer on the Camera. Unfortunately they wouldn't pose together in the same photo with me. I'll take what I can get :)
