Happy Birthday Master C and Miss E!
On the weekend we traveled down to Sydney to Celebrate my niece and nephews 3rd and 1st Birthdays. Here are just two images of Miss E and Master C from the day, such a handsome little man and beautiful little girl, although I am a very biased and proud Aunt.

Newcastle 'Show Day' Public Holiday
When I first moved up here I was completely surprised that Newcastle actually gets an extra public holiday. Well schools and public servants in the Newcastle Council region get one. So today the kids stayed home as the school was closed. Miss H was in tears yesterday afternoon after she had assumed we were going to the Newcastle show today but I had to tell her otherwise. She actually thought they HAD to attend the show today as it was called Newcastle Show day Holiday. I let her down gently as we had visited this show during the first year we'd moved up here and to be honest, it costs a fortune by the time you pay entry, a few dodgy rides and an elcheapo show bag that actually costs a fortune, it just has crappy little items in them. I would much rather wait until the Royal Easter Show in Sydney. So today they had some fun in doors and then we took them to the park at Speers Point. I love that playground. I truly wished we had some sort of park like that up in Newcastle, fenced with many wonderful different play items where their imaginations can run wild. Anyway here are some images I photographed today.

Surfest
Today I headed down to Merewether Beach for a short time to watch the surfers in the Burton Toyota Pro Competition. I thought it was a good chance to catch some fresh air, takes some time out, and at the same time, of course take my little camera with me. I must admit, I felt like an 'extreme' beginner when it comes to surf photography, the lenses of the professional sport photographers are HUGE! and mind you extremely expensive. So considering I was using my 4 year old kit 70-300 non IS lens I think I got some pretty decent shots. I definately must research the event before I go though, I had no idea who was who.....but it was nice to catch some sun rays, ocean breeze and most annoying sea salt all over the camera.

So much Pink! and so much fun!
Its been a very busy week for Miss H. Apart from getting used to spending 5 days a week at school, she also attended two parties over the weekend. One at lollipops for a fellow student Master H from her class and yesterday she was lucky enough to attend Miss L's Barbie party. It was such a wonderful 'girlie' party, with the girls all dressing up in their favorite Barbie ' I want to be' character. I love to see this side of Miss H, she has such a feminine side to her as she loves all of the 'girly' things when it comes to her accessories, wearing dresses, loving to look pretty yet she also has a 'tomboy' side to her where she loves to play rough and tumble with the boys or play with matchbox cars, lego or wrestling. Best of both worlds I'd say! Here a few images of Miss H enjoying Miss L's Party.

Last Day of Nippers
Yesterday was the last day of the Nippers Season. It also felt like summer was over too....it was chilly and while we were there we had to put up with a few showers. Fortunately a little rain does not stop the nippers from having some fun. Here are a few images I captured of Master C in the Flag race. Master C is a very competitive little man and throughout these past couple of nipper seasons he's grown up, learns to deal with defeat and I am really proud that he's becoming a real sportsman with the right attitude.
Miss H and her fashionable accessories.
Thought I'd post a couple of photos that I captured yesterday of Miss H wearing her crochet hat and flower that she absolutely adores. I love that she is into all of the 'girly' things like handbags, hair clips, hats, barbies, beautiful tutus and dress up costumes but also that she can be a bit of a 'tomboy' at times and enjoys playing with the boys and the games that they like to play....including wrestling time with Daddy.

Family Celebrations
Yesterday was my Brother in laws 30th birthday party. I had a great time catching up with family and friends who we don't get to see very often. My daughter loves catching up with my niece and her 2nd cousins. I have so much enjoyment watching the girls play together, she reminds me of the imaginary games I used to play as a little girl. And yes Glenn, you will always have that "my mums older than you Uncle Glenn" comment to throw back at me, but that's okay, I'm loving the thirties! Here are just a few images I caught, and they are more of the children who were at the party, as of course they are much more fun to capture! I will slowly add a few more, these are just a few I've uploaded and edited.
